SwithMail, a free and portable application for Windows-powered machines, can be used to silently send out messages from the command line or a batch file. First up you must set up a few settings – server info, from and to address, email subject, and so on. After that you can send out email messages based on the settings you set up.

As mentioned above, SwithMail is portable. This means that you won’t have to install anything. You will have to download an archive, extract its contents, and run an executable – the SwithMail executable. Alongside the SwithMail archive, there’s a Read Me TXT inside the archive; it provides useful information on how to use SwithMail.

Run the SwithMail executable and you will be presented with a SwithMail Usage window. It presents several options, global variables, CLI usage, and things to note. It allows you to access the Configure Settings menu; from this menu you can set the sever, email addresses, email content, and several parameters. When you’re done you can test the settings and save the settings to XML.

Use the SwithMail Usage window and the Configure Settings menu to configure the application, to set things up just the way you like them. Then use the application to conveniently send email messages from the command line or a batch file. I remind you that SwithMail is free. You can enjoy this sort of functionality for as long as you want and you do not have to part with your hard earned money. But if you like SwithMail, you may want to part with some of your money. Please consider making a small donation to support SwithMail.

SwithMail is free, portable, and works as advertised. Get it, set it up, and use it to send emails from the command line or a batch file.

Pros

SwithMail is portable; you do not have to complete an installation process to get started with the application. A handy Read Me text file is included. After you set it up, you can use SwithMail to send emails from the command line/batch file. SwithMail is free for commercial and non-commercial purposes (consider making a donation).

Cons

None that I could think of.
